巖白菜素的功用
巖白菜素（Bergenin）
[植物來源]：虎耳草科植物巖白菜Bergenia purpurascens 全草，厚葉巖白菜（B.crassifoloa，Astilbe macroflora）紫金牛科植物百兩金（Ardisia crispa）根、莖、葉。A.hortorum.
[別名] 巖白菜內酯、矮茶素、矮茶樹I號、虎耳草素、巖白菜寧、佛手配質、鬼燈聚素、Bergenit、Vakerin、Arolisic acid B、Ardisic acid B、Corylopsin、Cuscutin、Peltaphorin
[藥理作用] 本品具有鎮痛、鎮靜、催眠及安定作用。其鎮痛作用弱于哌替啶，強于一般解熱鎮痛藥。在治療劑量下無呼吸抑制作用，亦不引起胃腸道平滑肌痙攣。對慢性持續性疼痛及內臟鈍痛效果較好，對急性銳痛(如手術后疼痛，創傷性疼痛等)、晚期癌癥痛效果較差。在產生鎮痛作用的同時，可引起鎮靜及催眠。本品的作用機制尚待闡明，可能與通過抑制腦干網狀結構上行激活系統、阻滯腦內多巴胺受體的功能有關。治療量無成癮性。

2.對氣管及肺組織呼吸的影響：作用于含巰基偉必需基團的酶系統，能降低組織呼吸，但作用不強。
3.抗炎癥；臨床主要用于治療慢性氣管炎和慢性胃炎。對胃和十二指腸潰瘍等亦有效。
